This is the first iteration of The Hardwire Metal Festival. The Festival is owned and promoted by the multi award winning death/thrash band, Inner Sanctum. The festival is unique in more ways than one, with the band taking it upon themselves to build a unique platform for heavy music.
Incidentally, Inner Sanctum launches this venture on the 10th year since their inception, with a line-up that promises to enthral metal-heads and extreme music lovers.
PSYCROPTIC | AUSTRALIA
The headliner of the event is the legendary technical death metal band from Australia, PSYCROPTIC. Fifteen years have passed since their formation in 1999, the band has released five critically acclaimed studio albums, all which show an organic progression along a clandestine path from which they will never stray. Psycroptic have toured all corners of the globe with bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Suicide Silence, Decapitated, The Faceless, Obituary, Carcass, Nile, The Black Dahlia Murder, Origin, Kataklysm, Aborted, Despised Icon, Suffocation, Veil of Maya, Cryptopsy, Misery Index, Vader, Born of Osiris, Hate Eternal etc. They were signed onto Nuclear Blast in 2008 and are presently signed onto Prosthetic Records.
INNER SANCTUM | BENGALURU
Inner Sanctum is a multi award winning death/thrash metal band from Bengaluru, India. Since 2006, Inner Sanctum has evolved from an underground project band into one of India’s premier metal outfits and one of Asia’s constant parameters in the thrash and death metal genres. Inner Sanctum has over the years earned critical and commercial acclaim and has even numerous awards including the Band of the Year 2007 (Levis), Band of the year 2009 (headbangers.in) and Best Emerging Band of the year (Jack Daniels Rock Awards), to name but a few.
The band has shared the stage with Metallica, Slayer, Behemoth, Cradle of Filth, Meshuggah, Amon Amarth, Vader, Testament, Periphery, Bloodbath, among the bigger international acts, and has headlined almost every major Indian music festival. Having already toured Europe twice, Inner Sanctum are blazing a path, few metal bands in India have dared to take.
GODLESS (HYDERABAD)
Formed in mid-2015, Godless is a five-piece Thrash/Death metal band from Hyderabad. Although a relatively new band, Godless features members who have been a part of the metal scene for quite a few years with their respective bands (Skrypt, Shock Therapy & Eccentric Pendulum). The band plays a heavy, abrasive and raw brand of thrash-influenced death metal with elements of both the new and old school. Godless signed a record deal with the label – ‘Transcending Obscurity’ and released their debut EP on the 7th of May, 2016. The album was met with rave reviews from all across the world. The band has been busy touring in support of this album. Godless have established themselves as a powerful force in the Indian metal scene.
FRAGARAK (DELHI)
Fragarak came into existence in early 2012 and laid the foundation for one of the most promising acts to newly emerge out of India that year. Fragarak is a lethal blend of somber tunes accompanied by intense technical rhythms, supported by fiercely independent bass lines, bolstered with decimating drumming, and channeled by lyrical themes delivered through bestial vocals. In less than a year Fragarak independently released their full-length debut album – ‘Crypts of Dissimulation’ – on 5th May, 2013. In May/ April (2014), Fragarak toured China in support of ‘Crypts of Dissimulation’, making Fragarak the first Indian band to tour China. In February (2015) Fragarak toured South-East Asia playing two shows in Penang (Malaysia) and Singapore supporting Impiety on their 25th anniversary tour and an exclusive co-headliner show in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
